
Paul Tim Whillans
Before launching into consulting, Tim worked for Barrick Gold in Tanzania as Senior Mine Engineer and before that at Myra Falls Operation Vancouver Island with the same position. With over 25 years in the mining industry he has worked at 13 underground mines, observed 13 other mines in different countries and worked on projects for an additional 20. He has hands on experience with mining and has a wealth of experience in designing as well as observing different mining methods. Tim's training is in Geology and Physics and he started in mining in 1979 as an underground surveyor in Whitehorse Copper Mine moving through numerous positions in engineering and production supervision.
Over the past 17 years, Tim has enjoyed volunteering as a cross country ski coach.
He applies coaching values of ethics, teamwork, excellence and humor to his work
in mining.

Luis Alonso Cano Zendejas
Alonso has been with Whillans Mine Studies de Mexico S.A. de C.V. since January 2008, and has participated in Canadian and Latin American proyects, working on underground conceptual and detailed designs and on mining schedules and costing. Before joining WMS, Alonso worked with Gammon Gold de Mexico S.A. de C.V. training technical personnel in the use of mining software and systems and was in charge of maintaining the integrity of the sample, drillhole, planning and survey database using Acquire, MS Access, Minesight and Promine software.
He is a mechancial engineer, a chartered accountant and has a master in cost analysis with a specialty in taxes. He taught mathematics at the University of Guanajuato before starting his mining career.
He was selected as Karate Do of the University of Guanajuato for 8 years and for three years was karate trainer for the university.
Alonso has a high standard of integrity and a lot of enthusiasm for problem solving and working alongside the technical personnel at the mines he visits.
